Quicken Deluxe 2010 Download For WindowsI have been a Microsoft Money user since it was first introduced in 1996. So you can imagine my concern when Microsoft discontinued support for Money. I decided to wait till Quicken ironed out any quirks in the migration from Microsoft Money. Finally, decided to take the leap with the introduction of Quicken 2010. Seeing all the negative reviews, I did have my fingers crossed, ready to revert back to Microsoft Money if things went South. To my surprise, the import ran smoothly, or as smoothly as one can expect when moving data from one software tool to another. I ran into three issues which I manually fixed - each of my investment accounts got an associated cash account but I quickly discovered that I could change this by editing the Account Details in the Overview section. The other quirk is that I had all kinds of Account information in the Payee section of Money. I seem to have lost it, but I plan to manually recreate it under the ToolsAddress Book section of Quicken. Some of my investment reminders did not migrate very well into Bills, but I deleted them and recreated them from scratch. The entire migration and cleanup process took about 6 hours - including muddling through these differences. That said, I find Quicken to be much better than Microsoft Money in a few respects - its reporting capabilities are way superior to Microsoft Money. The ability to drill down charts is very nice. Entering data is different between the two and it does take some getting used to. Same with Bills - different but no worse, no better. Comments are closed.
